Can I import OR listings?

I know an agent here who uses open Realty on his website.
Will it be pretty straightforward to import all of his listings to my site once I have this plugin installed?
How much work would that entail? Would it be complicated or would it be pretty straightforward? I´m thinking maybe the fields wouldn´t match up or something.
Would there be someway of having my listings update automatically when he changes his listings?

if you have access to his OR database then its a very simple thing to export the mysql tables and import them into your new site - will they auto update from his site to yours? - No - Not without an additional cron script to handle that and you would need access to both servers in order to make that work.

If the other OR site owner gave you user/password then yes we could easily program a script to handle the nightly update - but - the only other method would be to scrape the data and that is not a preferred method and is one that without permission can also get you in to trouble.

if you and the other site owner are good friends and he would consent and provide you user/pass information then we can handle the task quickly - if this a competitors site then data mining him for his data is one way of doing it but as I stated may get you into trouble.....it can still be done though and it would be quit a bit more costly to handle since there would be a lot more code required and usually requires running random proxies to prevent being ip blocked once they are on to whats going on.

reminds me of a job last year where a client wanted us to data mine several foreclosures sites in order to compile the largest collection of foreclosures in America - it can be done is all I will say about that =)

Interesting....
But in this instance it would be with his full permission and whatever access would be required I would have.
